Line Drive CircuitOne of the biggest issues with outboard effects units is their ability to work well with long cables (especially lengths of 20 feet). It's pretty obvious to most players that long guitar cords can suck the tone right out of your signal at both the high and low end of your tone. Recognizing the need for long cables and the problem associated with them DST incorporated our new LINE DRIVE circuitry into the output section of the VTR-2 stand alone reverb unit. The LINE DRIVE circuit has the advantage of a very low output impedance (less than 1kohm) to drive extremely long cables AND the added benefit of available extra gain (up to +6dB) to allow guitarists the flexibility of boosting the signal as it hits the front end of their amp. This is a great feature for players using those older low gain amps. The LINE DRIVE output is fully integrated into the WET and DRY level controls to allow a continuous mix of effect level and final output. The LINE DRIVE circuit is 100% vacuum tube to maintain the overall vintage tone of the VTR-2.
